The careful chiseling of all surfaces is noteworthy, each branch projecting from highly realistic acanthus foliage into beautifully fluted stems that raise the drip-catches that are lined with repeating leafage beneath faux candlesticks. The branches have been wired for electricity at some point during the 20th century. An intricate column is embellished with circles of quills above the candle branches, these below chaotic twists of ribbon in the tip.
It is an exquisite display piece for anyone passionate about metal work and early lighting of inordinate quality. 12 3/8" W x 24 1/2". Condition Report: Old repairs, small traces of solder around the stems. Right branch has a slight inward curve.
Traces of wear and oxidization to gilding. Wiring should be checked by a professional prior to installing. Please scroll down to view all detailed images of this piece.
