Small 18k Gold Antique French Front Close Leverback Earrings Rock Crystal Quartz. 18k Gold Antique French Front Close Leverback Earrings Rock Crystal Quart Heart Leaf Shape. Offered today a sweet pair of antique 18k yellow gold French-made front closure drop / dangle earrings. They look like a heart leaf shape, to me. The wires enter the ear from the back and they snap closed at the front. PLEASE NOTE THAT THESE ARE BEAUTIFUL BUT SMALL--the photos are enlarged to show detail--see the earrings next to dime in my hand so you will know what to expect. The earrings have a teardrop shape, with a white gold hand-etched section which runs down the center of the drop. At the bottom, a little round rock crystal quartz (tested as genuine quartz, NOT CZ) is set. The wires enter the ear from the back side, and hook closed at the front. They have the French bird hallmark for 18k on the top of the leverback with a maker's mark we can't identify, and they test positive for 18k gold. They measure 5/8 from top of wire to bottom and weigh 2 grams. They are in excellent vintage condition.
