This magnificent French antique and still functioning pocket watch would make the most beautiful pendant for your #neckmess or #neckstack. And useful too as it has been keeping the time well! Crafted in 18k gold, it is set with 2 small rubies for sparkle and and has a wonderful applied leaf and fine / floral design with green gold stem, and rosy gold leaves above the rich and buttery yellow gold cover.

It is hallmarked with the French horse head hallmark on the little neck leading up to the crown and also twice inside the case. The horse head mark was used on 18k gold between 1838 and 1919 which confirms the age of the piece. I love seeing this hallmark as any date range specific marks help give us some built in history on the piece. Note I do not know anything about watch mechanisms, but over the course of two days I set the time and wound it twice and it is ticking away and keeping the time well. The loop around the crown is fixed to stand straight up. Chain in photos is not included but listed separately in my shop.

Antique box used for staging is not included. In addition to the horse head marks mentioned above, it also has a maker's mark inside the case that looks like LB with a rook / castle in between. Additional photos available on request : as I have many more than the allotted amount here.

About 26mm by 34mm tall (not including the added jump ring) by 11mm. It weighs a sturdy 15 grams but of course this is not the gold weight since the watch mechanism is inside. All my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition considering age. There are several impressions around the rim giving it a rippled around the outside edge. Also on one side is a tiny crease / crack to the gold from these impressionsInside, the middle (unseen when closed) gold cover over the watch mechanism is also rippled on one side and when you press it, it pops in and out since it is thin.

The cover itself looks nice, It does have some surface wear, scratches, a few nicks, maybe 4 shallow linear impressions noticeable if you study it in a reflection. It has a highly mirrored finish which shows the surface wear when it catches the light.

There is a hairline between the 8 and the 12 on the watch face but the crystal is in great shape with no scuffs, scratches or nicks. The hinges are all tight and all the covers snap closed very snugly. As with all my items - Please see photos closely as this is not a mint condition item.
