From the collection of Mr. Guyon a member of the National Watch & Clock Association. The Clock is currently mounted on a bronze finished "Arcadia" statue made by the Ansonia Clock Company. Time is kept by the unique 8-day French movement, which is spring driven "time only" and swings from the two suspension springs and chains approximately one-half inch from side to side.
A small rod operating out of the right hinge controls the escape mechanism. The Clock comes with a beautiful onyx pedestal, together they stand 72 inches high. Although there are no markings on the movement, Mr.
Guyon invested years of research trying to find a duplicate clock with no success and believed this clock was made by the clockmaker Guilmet. Exposa a Paris en 1867 une pendule mysterieuse marquee.
Don't believe you will find an original timepiece / work of art, identical to this one... You can count on one hand those that are similar historically.
