French Winking Cat Vermeil Sterling Pin Brooch C. 1940

Whimsical French winking vermeil sterling. The cat's body is hand chased and pierced. The head features prominent whiskers. One eye and eye brow accented.

With sparkling hand cut pastes. Mounted in silver; the other eye closed. The belly made of a faux pearl.

The brooch is 43 mm high 23 mm wide. The closure is a trombone clasp. There are illegible hallmarks on the back. Total weight is 9.3 grams. The body covered with beautiful antique patina.
