Large Antique French Gilded Tabernacle/Shrine/Cabinet with Hand Painted Angels

This impressive antique tabernacle is from France and it dates to the late 1800's. It is made of pine and at some point has been gilded and painted. The interior of the tabernacle has also been redone with newer fabric. As you can see in the photos, it shows many minor signs of wear and there are several pieces of trim that are missing (see photos). Even though there are missing pieces it is very hard to notice unless you inspect the piece closely. Note that there are a few woodworm holes on the back side of the piece (see photo). There is a key and the lock works as it should. Dimensions: 54.5" high, 34.5" wide and 18.5 deep (front to back). Description of item for sale.
