Also feel free to reach out if you are looking for anything specific! Unique and scarce French "Souvenir" blue enamel ring in 18k gold (face) with 10k wide band (shank).
Beautiful floral details on each shoulder flanking the very legible text. I love rings with words!
This is an antique piece that I acquired in France from the Victorian period. It was originally a hair ring with a braided hair shank which ran through the ring face but the hair was broken and missing / unfixable. My jeweler added a nice and sturdy shank and inserted each edge of the shank into the hollow ring face at the shoulders making it a very sturdy piece that is now very wearable and truly one of a kind. It is marked with the French eagle head mark on the back of the ring face for 18k gold.Ring is currently about a size 5. On the finger, the ring face is 8.2mm wide. It weighs 3.5 grams. Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. There is a seam present on each end of the shoulders where the ring face attaches to the shank. But while wearing it has a nice sheen and does not stand out too much. You can see the joining of the two pieces more evidently on the inside of the shank behind the ring face not visible while wearing. I do not like polishing / buffing antique pieces so my jeweler did not overdo it on the smoothing there so as not to ruin the 100 plus year old patina of the ring face. So that is visible when you take the ring off but it is very comfortable to wear, quite chunky and sturdy.
Slightly different patina from the antique ring face to the new shank but with the shank being 10k it should patina with time. But of course due to age - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. This item is in the category "Jewelry & Watches\Vintage & Antique Jewelry\Rings".
